You are invited to join the community for a Yahrzeit Shiur, a Memorial Lecture, in honor of Rabbi Yosi Eisen, of blessed memory, featuring guest speaker Dr. Jeremy England: "Predicting Nature in a Created World: From the Dreams of Joseph to the Miracles of Moses".
Professor England is a physicist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology who uses statistical physics arguments to explain the spontaneous emergence of life, and consequently, the modern synthesis of evolution. He terms this process "dissipation-driven adaptation". England is the Thomas D. & Virginia W. Cabot Career Development Associate Professor of Physics. After earning a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Harvard in 2003, he began his graduate studies at the University of Oxford, and subsequently completed his doctorate in physics at Stanford in 2009. Before coming to MIT, he spent two years as a lecturer and research fellow at Princeton.
Please come honor the memory of Rabbi Yosi Eisen as we gather for this very special tribute.
