WHY ARE ASHKENAZI JEWS MORE LIKELY TO INHERIT CERTAIN GENETIC CONDITIONS?

Featuring guest speaker: Gary Frohlich, MS, CGC of Sanofi Genzyme will discuss the
“Founder Effect,” genetic conditions among Ashkenazi Jews, and the signs and
symptoms of Gaucher Disease. Gaucher is one of the most common of Ashkenazi
diseases, affecting 1 in 850, with 1 in 15 a carrier.

Gary has been a genetic counselor for over 35 years and has seen over 26,000 couples
for genetic counseling. He is a published author of both scientific articles as well as
pamphlets on Ashkenazi Jewish Diseases.
