The Israeli in Residence series is made possible by Memphis Jewish Federation's Lemsky Endowment Fund.

From 5:30-6:00 there will be mingling, drinks and snacks. At 6:00 Abraham will begin his discussion on Tel Aviv.

Tel Aviv: the future of the Jewish people and Jewish identity?
Jerusalem is commonly understood as the Jewish city. However, in the 21st century, while Jerusalem remains the soul of the Jewish people as well as the capital of the State of Israel, it is Tel Aviv that is the center of the 3rd Jewish Commonwealth. How has the creation of Tel Aviv changed the concept of what it means to be Jewish; the image of a Jewish person, both by the world and ourselves; and the future of the Jewish people including the recreation of Jewish culture and identity in the Jewish homeland.
