Types of Funds

The Foundation offers a variety of ways for donors to support their favorite charitable organizations.

  • Donor Advised Philanthropic Funds

    These “charitable checking accounts” are among the most popular fund types because they are a tax-wise, cost-effective and flexible way for you and your family to plan your charitable giving and easily make grant recommendations to your favorite charitable organization.   • Designated Endowment Fund

    You may wish to fund a particular agency or program within the Memphis Jewish community or establish a fund in memory of a loved one. Through a Designated Fund, you can ensure that the agencies and programs that are important to you receive perpetual support. Minimum Gift is $10,000.   • Family Supporting Organization

    A Family Supporting Organization qualifies as a public charity because of its affiliation with the Jewish Foundation of Memphis. Minimum gift is $1,000,000. For more information contact

  • Teen Philanthropy Funds

    A unique tzedakah program for bar and bat mitzvah age teens. Following a teen’s bar or bat mitzvah, the Foundation encourages Jewish teens to take an active role in philanthropy through participation in Memphis B’nai Tzedek and the Teen Philanthropy Board.
